SINGER® Pintuck Presser Foot
The Pintuck Foot is used for embellishing garments, table linens and bed linens, typically in conjunction with a twin needle (not included). Working with a twin needle, the foot creates evenly-spaced raised tucks in the fabric. It has a series of evenly-spaced grooves on the underside which allows for perfectly parallel rows of raised tucks that will not be flattened when sewn.
Increase the upper thread tension or add a cord for more pronounced tucks. Sew intersecting rows of tucks for interesting texture on the fabric! Works best with lightweight fabrics such as batiste, silk, and organdy.
How to Use:
- Snap on the Pintuck Foot.
- Insert a narrow twin needle.
- Thread the machine with two spools of thread.
- Increase the top thread tension.
- Set the machine for a straight stitch.
- Using a marking tool, mark the first row of stitching (can be straight or wavy).
- Position the fabric under the foot aligning the marking with the center of the foot and stitch the first tuck.
- To stitch the second tuck, position the first tuck into one of the other grooves. Which groove used will determine the spacing of the tucks.
